“I have decided to stick to love … Hate is too great a burden to bear.”

– Martin Luther King Jr.

Love is hard to show, but hate is heavy to carry. Love is slow to anger, hate is quick to speak. We cannot do both at once, we must choose one, and stick with it. We, along with other people, will be happier if we love. While if we hate we, along with other people, will be unhappy, and cause others to be unhappy right along side us.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: Only love can do that.”

Martin Luther King Jr.

To make friends, you need kindness. To keep friends, you have to have compassion. To be a friend, you need to be understanding, loyal, and sympathetic. You cannot make a friend be being mean, you can only make a friend by being kind. Hate cannot make people like you, only love and kindness can drive someone toward you.

“Joy is not in things; it is in us.”

Richard Wagner COMPOSER

You are the only one who can control the joy inside you and make the choice to be happy. You are the one who can choose not not let anything break you, to not let words bring you down, to not let the little things hurt you. That is the only thing you can do not stay happy in the tough parts of life, stay hopeful in a time of despair, and to help make others around you happy, hopeful, and always striving to do their best.  These things can remind you to be a happier, more joyful person, but you have to choose to listen to that reminder.

Joy is inside us always. It is, in a way, our sixth sense. We can always control it, it’s always there some where, deep inside of us. It can give us peace in the hardest of times, and hope in the most hopeless situations.  We can never fully get rid of the joy that resides in us, we can only lose sight of it for a moment. Sometimes it’s easy to let the negative thoughts and feelings take over. Find the light at the end of the tunnel, and run toward it.

“The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives.”

Russell M. Nelson RELIGIOUS LEADER

Joy is not about finding happiness in the moment, it’s about having to make the choice to find joy even in the hardest times. Life is not always the easiest, but we have to preserver when it seems hardest to carry on. joy is a powerful emotion that only we can control. We may blame the world for our hurt, but the only ones we have to blame is ourselves for not choosing joy.
